Added another generation to the family: Gryphon Khan Smith
On June 27th, I was honored with the birth of my son, Gryphon Khan Smith. He came as a healthy 7 lbs 2 0zs. I have spent the last week enjoying every moment of my son. I never knew changing diapers could be so entertaining! I have even found a way to get him in the garage with me! Just roll the bassinet out to the garage and I can work on the car with Gryphon! I just can't wait for him to get a bit older so he can use those small hands to reach into tight places to secure the occasional wayward nut, bolt and/or screw. OK, I will enjoy him for more than just those reasons. I think projects like working on cars can help build a relationship with your kid. I know some of my fondest memories of my dad were working on projects like the "El Cheapo Jeepo" which was a 2wd jeep from Acapulco Mexico that was painted pink and white....turned it into a stunning jeep! We also had my brothers Bronco that we worked on a bit as well (I got the crappy job of scraping out the headliner glue from the roof). I hope to share some quality garage time with Gryphon in the years to come.
