Biblical Build Day: Build a car or a boat?
During the day on Saturday, I witnessed the most disgusting weather I have ever seen. It was about 90 degrees, 200% humidity, thunder, lightening....oh...and don't forget the torrential rain! It rained so much that the rain off the roof was shooting out of a drain pipe about 4 feet from the house! The back yard flooded and the water started to breech the garage. I manned the wet/dry vac and stood my ground. Luckily, we survived. No wonder they call this kit a "hurricane."
This weekend, I concentrated on putting in the emergency brake and fuel tank assembly. The e-brake was a simple install. You want to make sure that you route the cables in a fashion that doesn't restrict the cable movement. This means, no sharp bends, corners, etc.
The fuel tank was interesting. Hurricane supplies you with a brand new fuel tank with everything you need. You do have to do some mods on the tank however. Basically, you move the the spout from one side of the tank to the other. They give you a block off kit to plug the holes on one side and you make new ones on the other side. I installed the fuel level sender unit and it was done. This week I need to see if I can get the tank installed and the battery cables installed so that I can install the motor!!!!
