Turkey Pan....on Turkey Day!
Happy Thanksgiving. The turkey pan that came with my engine didn't allow for adjustments and I also had clearance issues with the choke and accelerator linkage. I ended up cutting up the turkey pan and never really liked it. Then I discovered that Kirkham Motorsports (makers of those BEAUTIFUL aluminium cobras) made a two piece turkey pan. I went and got one and what a nice piece of equipment. The pan went on easy except for one thing...My choke linkage didn't clear. I didn't want to cut a hole in this pan. What was I to do? I went and took a stiff drink and took out my tear drop hammer and shot bag and started whacking my BRAND NEW TURKEY PAN. Crazy? Maybe...but I wanted to see if I could create a blister that would give the linkage room. It actually came out GREAT! I also learned how fun metal shaping can be. It is scary at first as you will see the metal got beat up. But nothing some straightening, sanding and scotchbrite can't fix. Check out the pics and then check out the last pics of the old turkey pan
