The Buck Stops Here:
I had to STOP for a second and take a BRAKE from writing the blog (I slay me!!) as I bunkered down and worked on finalizing the front end. I had a bearing size issue for the spindle. My outer bearing was too small in diameter for the spindle and I replaced it with the right size one. Once that was compete, I could move on to put on the brake mounts, rotor hats and brakes themselves. The install was pretty straight forward. So straight forward that I thought it was too easy and had to confirm with the folks on the Hurricane forum. I still need to trim the steering rack ends as I have about 2” extra length. Going to work on that one after I get the motor in to make sure I don’t hack off too much. Now that the rotors are installed, I can mount the wheels and tires. I have some parts on order that will allow me to do this. Then I will have what is called a “rolling chassis.”
