ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE!! INSTALLING FUEL LINE:
To install the fuel line, I had to remove the fiberglass cockpit tub. During this, I removed the aluminum off the firewall as well so it would not get hurt. The uninstall was a breeze. The tub is so light but very strong. The tub is now outside the garage under a tarp where the spiders will have their way with it. I will keep it out for the next few weeks as I install fuel lines, brake lines, fuel tank, engine and trans…that’s right…engine and trans!! But I digress.
On Monday, I installed the fuel lines. This was pretty straight forward. The fuel line is aluminum so you have to bend it to your will into the correct route. I will be adding some rubber fuel line over certain parts of the aluminum fuel line where I think there is a possibility of rubbing. Nothing sucks more than a hole in your fuel line….fire is not kind to a car....even fire engines. For the rest of the week, I will be inventorying all the parts for the brake line install. I am looking forward to this step. Although, I just found out I have some afterwork business meetings that might not allow me to do this inventory until the weekend.
