More cockpit work:
My main goals with this last batch of projects were to get the cockpit side aluminum installed, the door latches mocked up and the tunnel holes covered with homemade aluminum panels. Additionally, the hood was ready at paint (after much persuasion) with another host of issue that I will cover in another post. Anyway, since most of the aluminum in the cockpit will be covered in a couple of layers of carpet; I wasn't too worried about fit and finish. The door latches required some interesting spacing techniques. I also trimmed the door latch bracket mounts as well. The doors will need to be calibrated once the carpet goes in. The tunnel aluminum panels were easy to make utilizing the westwood fab metal brake. As you can see with the hood, the scoop is now centered...however...many other things went wrong with the painter that I discovered and now need to fix. Pictures below:
