I just got news that my new 428 FE Ford big block engine from Southern Automotive (SA) will be delivered this Friday! I will also be receiving my top loader transmission. It will be like Christmas. I am sure my wife will be mad at me as I cuddle with it all weekend.
I spent last night building an engine cradle and an engine tilter for my cherry picker (engine hoist). I have to rent a truck so I can transport the engine from Newark Airport to my home. This big beefy big block won't fit in my jeep cherokee!
The folks at Southern Automotive were nice enough to send me some pics of my new engine on the break-in stand.

That looks like a wonderful powerplant!!! Why didnt you go with the 427 instead??? I personally think the small block fords rule!!! I have one in my early style Bronco, that will take most cobras on the street today. IMO. Good luck on your build and I will keep tabs on your progress!!! Chow

The 427 is a great race engine. I love it. The 428 is a bit more tame and easier to keep going for the street.
