Week 4 of Body and Paint
Went by Rick's today to see how progress was going. I was completely amazed at the progress thus far. Rick was saying that come the monday after thanksgiving that they would be hitting it harder and that the cobra would be done in probably 3-6ish weeks which is fast. What you see below is a filler that is sprayed with a paint gun. You can still see the guide coat (which is a darker colored dust that shows high/low spots when sanding). Rick said the car was pretty easy thus far. He is going to use a black primer so that the British Racing Green (BRG) will look a mile deep. Also, when I get a rock chip (and let's face it, I will), it won't show up like a white primer. He is also going to take the body off to spray an undercoat like they use on Porsches. This will add some extra strength to the body and protect from rocks flying up from the wheels causing a spider crack on the surface. Enjoy the pics!
